Optimisation of performance "à la carte"

Some feedback following the remapping of my A6:

I'm very happy: extremely comfortable to drive, flexibility and performance! Really something else! Driving feels good again!

One sunny morning, a few days ago, I went to Dynatek in Faymonville, to get my 2005 BMW 525d M remapped...

Theoretically, on paper, this car has an output of 163hp and 400 Nm of torque!!... obviously not enough!!

Especially because, with this pretty mediocre performance, I registered a fuel consumption of 9.3 l/100km when taking it easy, with peaks of 12 l/100km when I put my foot down, and a shocking lack of power at low revs (below 3000 rpm), which compelled me to rev it up far too high to get the power I wanted!

When I arrived at 9am, Dynatek could not have been more welcoming, wasting no time in handing me a token for the coffee machine!

Then an engineer took my car over to the workshop at the rear.

I have to say, the place is spotless - it's as clean as any of the classiest restaurants! It's like being in a nuclear laboratory...

Anyway...

They got my car up on the lift to take a look underneath, and to make sure everything was in order before changing the settings...

To my surprise the output was not displayed as 163hp, as it was on paper ... but 182hp! with a torque of 420 Nm instead of 400!

Apparently this is common practice among German car-makers ... except at Audi

Then, the computer remapping was complete... just 1 hour later.... (during which time I was treated to a tour of the site)

Re-test to evaluate the results of the remapping! To my surprise and delight it was up to 250hp and 530 Nm, enough to tow a lorry out of a ditch!

The engineer suggested I take it for a spin round the village to feel the difference...

Needless to say that with that kind of torque, the slightest pressure on the right pedal has you pinned to your seat.

Even the sound of the engine had changed. This was not the same car I arrived in!

It was like driving a jet-plane!!

I'll spare you the details because it’s on the motorway that you can really appreciate the difference - 250hp and 530 Nm zooming along at 2000 revs!

As for fuel consumption, in the 40 km after the remapping it dropped to an average of 8.5l on a mixed circuit...

I am thrilled... and delighted...

I would like to thank the entire team at Dynatek for their excellent work, and I will be seeing them very soon to get my friend's BMW 530d E 60 remapped (can't wait!) ... ...

A few days ago I came to DYNATEK to have the ECU remapped.

I would first like to emphasise your friendly welcome and the professional way in which the work was done.

The very best equipment used at the top level in the world of motorsport.

With an Audi A3 2.0 TDI CR, remapping was a must, given the performance of other cars in the same class.

As soon as we were out of your workshop, it was hard to keep my right foot under control, even with the wife clinging to the handle of her handbag. ... : O)

But you do have to know to enjoy yourself - and that's just what I did.

The torque had increased without losing any of the efficiency of the Audi engine. Pure bliss between 2000 and 3000 rpm.

I was even more delighted with the higher rpms when I pushed the Audi to its limits (5th and 6th).

Especially with a radar detection system to avoid unwelcome photos... : O)

I would recommend Dynatek to anyone looking for a truly professional service.

I wanted to come back and give you some feedback after the modifications your colleagues carried out on my Subaru.

I must confess that I am frankly amazed by the increase in output (150hp --> 182hp) but above all the increase in torque: plus 65 Nm.

The car feels completely different to drive. I feel like I have masses of torque to spare every time I accelerate, and I don't have to hit the accelerator as much as I used to when overtaking. The acceleration after changing gear is really stunning.

I have just had my Ford Kuga 2.5T remapped and wanted to know if other people have had this type of modification, by whom and how do they feel about the results.

Personally, I went to Dynatek in Belgium. And I must say the results are really amazing. At 200hp, my car was not what you could call slow in the first place - but now I hardly recognise it! The engineer managed to get it up to 270hp by remapping the ECU. Hardly surprising, you might say, given that it is the same engine as the S-Max (220hp), but detuned to 200hp on the Kuga for some unknown reason. The improvement is quite spectacular: plus 70hp and 10 Nm of torque (42.5mkg). The accelerator response is instant and you stay glued to your seat! The acceleration is phenomenal.especially after gear changes.

I would like to have an idea of the new performance levels just out of curiosity...

But what is really significant, beyond just performance levels, is the additional torque, because it feels like you’re not putting your foot down so much, especially in town!

I'll tell you later what effect it has had on fuel consumption.

Anyway, I highly recommend this company based in Faymonville near Spa Francorchamps. They were very efficient and really friendly. The owner has a real passion for beautiful cars. He owns 3 very rare cars which he has remapped himself and which you can admire on site:

- An Audi RS6 tuned to 700hp, a Porsche GT2 and a Cayenne that has been restyled by TechArt and tuned to 650hp...

Simply unbelievable!

The good thing when driving home [from Dynatek] is that you get an instant opportunity to test out all types of driving (little country roads, motorway, expressway). The performance of my car now is incredible. I have a lot more acceleration. I must admit that when I bought it, I was a little disappointed with the car's performance. But thanks to your remapping I have fallen in love with it again. I overtake a lot more safely now.
